People are looking online for answers to their problems, pains, fears, & desires.

People surf the internet because they are looking for information, education, tools to help them, and of course shopping.[/box]

If your home page begins with any of the 10 most overused phrases your website is boring; a boastful bore of a website!

  2. Our business was created to…
  3. At XYZ, we are proud of the…
  4. Our Mission is to…
  5. We are a highly sought after…
  6. At XYZ, we are a firm dedicated to meeting your needs…
  7. Our goal, at the Offices of XYZ, is to…
  8. XYZ is focused on providing high-quality…
  9. We are proud of our reputation…
  10. We are the premier resource for…

What can you do if your website is boring &/or boastful?

Ask yourself… what does my target audience want to know about, learn about, or explore? Be relevant! Write about what you know and research what you don’t. Be credible and accountable because you may need to respond to questions from your readers. And of course, relate your content to your business or industry.  Be sure your website is about your business or industry. Don’t publish stories about shoes if you sell ball bearings.
